Who we are

ABR is a family-run agency and as such, we keep the values important in a family unit as forefront in our practices. Quality programs which lead to great progress for your child are our top priority and are monitored on many levels throughout your child's treatment. Our expertise in ABA, in combination with our dedication to your family, provides an invaluable resource to families. Welcome to the ABR family!

ABR strives to provide the highest quality ABA services to individuals in Ventura County. ABR is vendored through Tri-Counties Regional Center and has a master contract with the Ventura County SELPA as a Non-Public Agency (NPA). In addition, ABR is paneled with many health insurance companies. Contact us today for more information.

Our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis services that help individuals thrive at home, in school, and in the community — while supporting caregivers as essential partners in care.

Evidence-based, collaborative care

We use evidence-based, data-driven practices to support skill development and behavior change while maintaining a compassionate, assent-based approach that respects each individual's preferences, dignity, and individuality. We collaborate with families, schools, medical professionals, and other providers to coordinate comprehensive support.

Dr. Laura Addison

Founder & Executive Director · Licensed Psychologist · BCBA-D

Dr. Addison is a licensed Psychologist in the state of California and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Doctoral level. She has dedicated over 20 years to studying Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Dr. Addison has co-authored numerous journal articles and book chapters and has served as a guest reviewer for both the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and Research in Developmental Disabilities. She has served as a faculty member at the California State University of Los Angeles in the department of Special Education. Dr. Addison's compassion for others and passion for ABA drives ABR to provide compassionate and quality services.

Education: Ph.D. in School Psychology from Louisiana State University

Dr. Megan Hafen

Clinical Director · BCBA-D

Dr. Hafen is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Doctoral level, with more than 12 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. She trained at The New England Center for Children, the Autism Center at Florida Tech, and the Edna A. Hill Child Development Center at the University of Kansas. Dr. Hafen has served as a guest reviewer for the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and is a member of ABAI and CalABA. She joined ABR in September 2013 and is passionate about providing effective, high-quality services to all ABR families.

Education: Ph.D. in Behavioral Psychology from the University of Kansas

Involved beyond the clinic

At ABR, we recognize the importance of community connection and the role local resources play in supporting individuals and families. We actively participate in Ventura County events such as the Aut2Run, as well as programs hosted by the Autism Society Ventura County (ASVC) and other local community initiatives focused on inclusion, awareness, and empowerment.
